There's something severely wrong here!?

ok so about 5 days ago, i noticed some pretty prominent and painful swelling around my vulva and my , so i went to the doctor and got diagnosed with bacterial vaginosis, she said its not uncommon to have swelling down there when a person has bv. but as of 2 days ago i noticed some very small sores around the swollen area, (maybe from scratching?) which is still very painful at this point, and this will be my third day on these prescriptions that the doctor gave me, and nothing what-so-ever has changed. I am ually active, the last time me and my boyfriend had was probably about week ago, then all this just hit me like a ton of bricks. My boyfriend told me that he is clean, he's been tested, just as well as i have been... which makes me think, if this is some sort of sti, wouldn't the doctor have noticed it when she examined me the first time? I don't know, i'm going back the doctor on monday, but if anyone has any answers, something that could help me sleep at night would be great!!
