How do I respond to question on job application about "infractions"

On a job application I filled out a question was asked regarding if I had any criminal convictions. Not knowing how extensively they meant the word "criminal" I offered my motor vehicle infringement history. This may have hurt me. Who has thoughts on this subject or advice. The job was with the school district, security -- my "infringement" was driving on a suspended license, this has been satisifed -- do I still need to list it?
