Even though I'm a nonbeliever (agnostic), sometimes when things feel out of my control, I feel like praying...?

Don't know if you'll accept this answer but human beings, deep down inside their souls, know that there is God. Some of them just for some reason or other, maybe angry about something which happened in their life or out of arrogance or being preoccupied with the dunya( life on this earth) etc. chose to ignore it. Hope you find peace within your soul.
