I Think My Story Is Too Cheesy?

Self doubt is common for artists. It doesn't sound cheesy to me. What I suggest is you have some people read it and get their honest reaction. If they are avid readers all the better. Don't prejudice them by saying "is this cheesy?" but ask for their honest opinions of the work.
